Many SCHOOL PARTNERS worked alongside Ai on the CANARIE Project - the development and refinement of Ai's educational access solutions systems. For large schools that already have a broadband infrastructure, Ai has developed a system that utilizes the proprietary BIC caching technology to dramatically increase online performance. For smaller schools, even ones in remote locations, Ai can provide affordable, fast internet access systems. |

VANCOUVER ISLAND SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 85 - "The (Ai) proxy server served eight school districts around the district. The speed of the network was particularly impacted here as the school had only a 56K line to the Internet, and a full lab of modern computers. Our experience was a great success." -Steve Gray, District Principal, Resources and Technology |
BURNABY SOUTH SECONDARY SCHOOL - "The (system) far exceeded our expectations, giving us faster and much more stable internet access in the school. SchoolWeb really satisfies a need in the school system to optimize Internet bandwidth and simplify management and delivery of internet to students." -Jeremy Meharg, Dept Head of Educational Technology |
FULFORD ELEMENTARY, FULFORD HARBOUR, BC - "Fulford Elementary is a small, rural school (125 students). Up until the server was installed, the slow connection speed and the inability of the connection to handle a whole class using the Internet was a perfect excuse to not use this resource at all! The SchoolWeb server has been a perfect solution...teachers have become much more comfortable using the Internet and see it as an important learning tool." -Judy Raddysh |
SCHOOL DISTRICT NO.19 (REVELSTOKE) BC - "Since the installation of the caching server at Big Eddy Elementary School, we have seen immeasurable differences in the use of the Internet. The teacher, on a number of occasions, has commented on how it has been the whole determiner of the success of her use of technology. With 25 students accessing web pages at the same time for research purposes, the use of the cache is critical." -Anne Cooper, Superintendent of Schools |
ROBSON COMMUNITY SCHOOL- "We had experienced difficulty in the past in using the Internet as a teaching tool. Internet access speed was painfully slow....students became restless and frustrated. With the (Ai) caching server in use, speed was certainly increased (and) teachers began taking classes into the computer lab much more frequently." -Michael Balahura, Principal, Robson Community School |
