Advanced Interactive Inc. is a young innovative BC company developing hi-speed Internet systems for remote and underserved regions and countries of the world. Such systems support schools, campuses, small towns, small and medium enterprises. Increasingly the systems are being applied to the education and community needs of developing countries in Africa, Middle East, South Asia and South East Asia.

Senior Personnel

We are looking for dynamic self-starters who are able to work independently to advance the use of information and communication technologies within the education sector in various developing countries in Africa, middle East, South Asia and South East Asia. This person or persons are expected to grow the business of AI Inc within a developing world context and will be responsible for the following:

             To identify potential developing countries in Africa, South Asia, South East Asia and the Middle East that will benefit from the technology systems developed by Advanced Interactive Inc (AI Inc).
 
            To liaise with developing country governments (national and provincial/state), equivalent crown corporation organisations, donor and development agencies, corporate sector and other relevant organisations on the acquisition and use of AI Inc systems and products.
           
            To analyse policy, implementation and research documents that will support engagements with the above groups and identify potential clients of AI Inc systems and products.

           To construct the necessary information packages (digital and paper formats) for use in developing countries that will inform on the features and use of the AI Inc technology system and its benefits to education, communities and small businesses.

           To support AI Inc technical staff to identify needs that need to be addressed and work with such staff to design further applications to the AI Inc technology systems.

In order to be successful with the above, only applicants with at least ten years experience in the following areas should apply:

  1. Working in a developing country in the public sector, community and non-governmental organisations and government.
  2. Knowledge and experience in the application of technology to the education system, to communities and to small businesses.
  3. Skills and knowledge in working with donor and development agencies will be an added advantage
  4. Skills and expertise in policy analysis, writing proposals and supporting officials to develop proposals and plans for the use ICTs in education and development.
  5. Knowledge of technology (word processing, presentations, databases, network applications, Internet and spreadsheets).
  6. Senior management of organisations, institutions and corporate, especially those focused on developing countries.

         
The successful applicant must have:

  1. A Masters in education and/or community development and/or technology
  2. Skills, knowledge and experience relevant to understanding the education and community systems in developing countries
  3. An excellent knowledge of working in developing countries and understanding the applications of ICT to the education and community development sectors.
  4. Excellent interpersonal skills, experiences of working with international development agencies, NGOs, governments and communities

Network Administrator
Full time job position with 2 years contract and hourly wage range between $27-30. Closing date: Jan 25, 2008

Advanced Interactive is looking for a technical expert for its Burnaby location. The following experience is required:

Maintain, troubleshoot and administer the use of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks, computer workstations, connections to the Internet and peripheral equipment.

Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, operating system software and software applications.

Operate master consoles to monitor the performance of computer systems and networks and to co-ordinate access and use of computer networks.

Provide problem-solving services to network users. Install, maintain, troubleshoot and upgrade Web-server hardware and software.

Implement network traffic and security monitoring software, and optimize server performance.

Perform routine network start up and close down and maintain control records.

Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.

Conduct tests and perform security and quality controls.

Control and monitor e-mail use, Web navigation, and installed softwares.

Perform shell scripting or other basic scripting tasks, maintain and co-ordinate the use of local and wide area networks (LANs and WANs), mainframe networks, hardware, software and related computer equipment.

Set up and maintain Internet and Intranet Web sites and Web-server hardware and software, and monitor and optimize network connectivity and performance.
